Undergraduate Courses BIOENG 1003BIOENG 1003 - Industrial InternshipInstructor: Woo/Wang Credits: 3 Term: Description: A research or design project involving a planning, design, fabrication, experimentation, analysis, and technical report writing performed by the student. The work is completed under the guidance of an industrial sponsor on an approved subject and culminates in an oral presentation at a technical symposium. A minimum of 9 hours per week must be spent in the industrial setting. Prerequisites: Bioengineering Student, Junior or Senior Standing. Required Texts: None Course Objectives: To give students practical experience within an industrial environment that includes project planning, design or experimentation, and analysis. Oral presentation and technical writing skills are introduced. Topics Covered: Class/Laboratory Schedule: Students work in industrial environment. Class officially meets three times: Initial meeting, Practice presentation to review presentation methodologies and skills, and Presentations during the Internship Symposium. Students should fill out an Industrial Internship Application, which the internship office will use to match the student with available industrial associates.
