Professional Interests

Mr. Beck joined the faulty of the University of Pittsburgh in 1992 as an adjunct assistant professor leading a senior project team on an environmental project. In 1994, he began teaching two undergraduate courses in the construction management program - construction information systems, and construction professional development. In 2003, Mr. Beck assumed the directorship of the Construction Management Program. He has over 26 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility for engineering, construction, and environmental firms.

Mr. Beck is past president of the Pittsburgh Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, (ASCE) and the past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Project Management Institute. He was recognized in 1990 as the Pittsburgh Civil Engineer of the Year by the Pittsburgh Section of ASCE. He is a registered professional engineer and certified as a project management professional.
