He is a member of the American Society for Metals and the Metallurgical Society of AIME. His research interests and areas of expertise include: Physical Metallurgy: Steels (HSLA, Microalloyed, Ultra-Low Carbon, TRIP and Dual-Phases, Stainless Steels) and Superalloys. Compact Strip Processing alloy design and processing of modern steels. Microstructural optimization through alloy design and thermomechanical processing of engineering materials. Fracture of engineering materials. Grain boundary engineering for enhanced performance. Texture development for improved formability and mechanical properties optimization in sheet steels.
