Majors

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science offers three programs of study, leading to bachelor of science degrees in the following engineering disciplines.

• Materials science and engineering

• Engineering physics

Minors

The department also offers two programs leading to minors in the following disciplines.

• Materials science and engineering
• Mechanical engineering

Certificate

The department offers a certificate in nuclear engineering for students in the Swanson School of Engineering and qualified students in the School of Arts and Sciences with an interest in nuclear science and technology.

Concentration

The department offers a concentration in ferrous physical metallurgy to allow a student to develop strengh in this particular area of interest.

Admissions

Undergraduate students are admitted to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science through the School of Engineering Admissions Office.
